Almost every homeowner has to deal with pest control issues at some point in their home. You must learn the pests in order to rid your home against them. You can keep the pests out if you know how.

Start from where the beginning.You must get to the pests food source to stop them from coming into your pest issues. Pests are probably attracted to your home because there is a source of water, available food, or shelter to use. Search for and eliminate leaks, leaks or entry points.

Use a perimeter spray to keep insects from your home. Spray areas around your house, as well as steps, porches and areas near doors and windows. Look for cracks that pests could enter your home. Use caulk or another type of filler to seal these areas.

Bedbugs are very sneaky and can be hard to eliminate entirely. Seal off any holes in the bed frame and around the bed before you poison bedbugs. This will keep any of the house you are not exterminating.

Mint is a mice problem. Plant some mint outside around your home’s foundation. This will make the mice find another home that has less than desirable to mice. Sprinkle mint leaves around to deter rodents.This will get rid of most mouse problems; just remember to use fresh leaves.

Outdoor lighting is awesome for keeping away strangers, but these lights can attract pests. If you must have outdoor lighting, pick colors that attract fewer insects, like orange, or yellow tinted bulbs since they don’t attract pest as much.

You need to check your whole house, but remember to inspect lesser used areas from time to time. If part of your house’s support structure is underground, termites may be operating in secret. Make sure crawl spaces and basements.

Chop it up the branches and trunk for firewood. You can either use the firewood yourself or give it to friends. Don’t just leave the stump though.

Mice will come into your trailer if you leave it in campers stored outside throughout the fall or winter. You can use natural repellents. Small bags of the repellents smell nice and are not poisonous, and they’ll shun away mice.

Use steel wool to plug up mouse holes that you find in your home. The rodents will try to eat the wool that’s steel and they’ll end up dying.

Ask the neighbors to assist with pest eradication efforts. In some areas, people around you probably have similar pest problems. If you rid yourself of them but your neighbors don’t, they can inhabit your place some day.
